Day of Freedom of Speech

     In memory of Nylon Cheng who self-immolated at 09:10am April 7th, 1989, the Foundation has by all means spent efforts to set the day of April 7th “the Day of Freedom of Speech”, in cities and counties possible.  Currently those cities/counties set April 7th “the Day of Freedom of Speech”, have memorial ceremony every year.  Such number of city/county may gradually increase.

On-site memorials

Education

    Since 2009, the Foundation has promoted a program for education of human rights.  Such activities include collecting “Teaching Plan at Primary and High Schools”, as so holding Seminars, Workshops and Educative Touring …etc. 

Essay contest

     As encouragement, to reward domestic and overseas students in the universities as well as graduate schools to study in/look into Nylon Cheng, his influences on pursuing Freedom of Speech, Human Rights and Dignity and Independent Democracy, the Foundation has set up “Rule for Essay of Nylon Cheng Study Reward”.
